Monitoring Account Balance Changes via Webhooks

A use case we’ve discussed with our partners is keeping tight tabs on when money arrives or is officially sent. As such we’ve made our first foray into webhook notifications to send out data any time a balance on a registered account changes. It’s a simple and we hope effective way to know immediately when to capitalize on available funds.

Other than knowing the account number you want data on, the only prerequisites are to setup a post back address AND/OR determine the emails for receiving the notifications. When ready follow this step(s).

  1. Step 1 is to register a webhook for a designated account. We’ll need the AccountNumber and either the post back address you want to use AND/OR the email addresses where you want information sent. Upon account balance changes, the:
    1. Post back addresses will receive back the account number, date, previous balance and current balance.
    2. Emails will have a more generic message for security purposes, saying only that the account number and the balance has changed.
  2. Step 2 (as needed) is a way to verify all details of registered Webhooks.
  3. Step 3 (as needed) lets you delete and then start over with new registrations as plans change.
